A new report released Wednesday reveals the number of deaths caused by alcohol misuse has dropped 6% since 2022. But deaths overall from alcohol, drug overdoses and suicide remain high -- up 142% compared to 20 years ago.

In Duval, Clay and Nassau counties, there were 797 total drug deaths in the first six months of 2023. That was down 1.7% from the same timeframe a year earlier.
