The frigid temperatures that greeted residents of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia to begin December will continue into the work week.

As November wraps up, cooler temperatures are already making their presence felt across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Several counties in the region are under freeze warnings and frost advisories, signaling a need for residents to prepare.

Temperatures drop into the 30s overnight

Hard Freeze and Freeze Warning until 8am.

Chilly under sunny skies today, then round two of freezing temperatures overnight.

What a drop in temperatures! A strong cold front will push the thermometer down by more than 30 degrees in less than 24 hours.

Remnants of today’s rain could be tomorrow’s icicles. Drier air is moving in and the temperatures are tumbling. Near record lows with Hard Freeze and Freeze Warnings in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday. Sunny and cold tomorrow. Changes on Friday will keep the cold in place this weekend.

Blustery under blue skies.  A Freeze Warning overnight for inland areas of NE FL and SE GA through 9am Tuesday.  Our first freeze will lead to another cool, dry afternoon.  Rain chances and another shot of cold air moves in this week, weekend.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The plants have taken a hit this winter, but hopefully not if you have paid attention to the freeze warnings issued by the National Weather Service. Freeze warnings are helpful notices so people can take action to protect tender vegetation and keep outdoor animals sheltered from the cold when a freeze is anticipated within 24 hours. Every county in northern Florida and southern Georgia has been under a freeze warning at some point this winter after seven December freezes and three last month. For locations that haven’t dipped below 28°F for several hours, the Weather Service will then issue frost advisories and freeze warnings when appropriate.
