All traffic westbound on Beach Boulevard is being diverted onto I295 northbound or southbound because of a crash.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office was responding to a stalled vehicle Sunday morning when a semi crash happened on I295 near Gate Parkway. According to JSO, the officer approached a vehicle that had stalled in the left lane of the interstate, which was flooded, to attempt to move the vehicle out of the roadway. During that time the vehicle was struck by a semi truck, which pushed the officer into the stalled vehicle. The semi then struck the concrete barrier. The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office Traffic Homicide Unit has responded to conduct an investigation.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds inside a car on the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 near the Old St. Augustine Road exit early Sunday morning. Jacksonville officers called to the scene at 2:12 a.m. found the male victim inside a vehicle. A News4Jax viewer witnessed the scene and sent pictures showing a heavy police presence on the side of the highway. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Aggravated battery detectives are investigating the incident.
