Robert Palmer, owner of Jacksonville Armada FC, announced the sale of the professional soccer club to a Jacksonville-based business owner, marking a new chapter for the team.
Two Jacksonville Armada soccer games scheduled to take place Saturday at Edward Waters University were abruptly relocated on Friday.
The Armada plan to build their stadium just north of the newly named VyStar Ballpark. Right now, it’s just vacant lots. But the plan is for it to have a soccer-specific stadium.

And for the Jacksonville Armada, there are additional challenges. After spending the first three years of the clubs existence in the North American Soccer League, the Armada saw that league fold. So, for the past two seasons, they played in the NPSLthe National Professional Soccer League, a league two levels below where the NASL was. And while the pandemic has every soccer league in the United States at a standstill, theres not a lot that he can do to move the ball forward for the club.
