Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar has been suspended for the 2026 season by Major League Baseball following his second positive test for a performance-enhancing drug.

Jurickson Profar agreed to a $42 million, three-year contract with the Atlanta Braves, less than a year after the outfielder got a $1 million deal from the San Diego Padres with spring training already underway.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A suspect was shot dead by police after he opened fire on Daytona Beach officers serving a warrant for his arrest, officials said. Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri said one of the officers was shot in the chest but was wearing his bulletproof vest and was expected to recover soon. The suspect was 44-year-old Michael Harris, who was wanted in connection with a shooting involving a woman earlier this month. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The State Attorney's Office has ruled two shootings involving Jacksonville police officers from 2017 justifiable, including a case in which a man hit ran into numerous vehicles on the Wonderwood Bridge. In both cases, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's Response to Resistance Board ruled the officers' use of force was within departmental guidelines. The State Attorney's Office ruled the shooting justifiable on Jan. 16. GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. - A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left one person injured, according to the Glynn County Police Department. Michael Harris of Saint Simons was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and causing serious injury by vehicle after a hit-and-run accident Saturday, deputies said. Harris is accused of driving a car that struck 19-year-old pedestrian Rilyn Ellis on Federica Road near Saint Clair Drive on Saint Simons Island, according to deputies.
