Patrick Mahomes threw his first two touchdown passes in nearly a month, Clyde Edwards-Helaire added two more scores on the ground, and the Kansas City Chiefs forced five turnovers in rolling to a record-setting 48-9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu has apologized for a tweet calling his team’s supporters “one of the most toxic fan bases in all of sports” amid a 3-4 start for the two-time defending AFC champions.

The team also re-signed tight end James O’Shaughnessy and kicker Aldrick Rosas and released eight reserves. The team also announced the release of cornerbacks Quenton Meeks, Rashaan Melvin and Josh Nurse, defensive tackles Dontavius Russell, Al Woods and Gabe Wright as well as punter Cameron Nizialek. The new league year began at 4 p.m. Wednesday marking the start of the period in which teams can sign players to contracts. The next important date on the calendar is April 29, the start of the NFL draft.

The forecast is calling for winds of 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts greater than 40 mph. Adams spoke earlier this week to reporters about the weather, hoping the strongest gusts don't develop while the ball is in the air. Board has movement in his limbs after suffering a concussion and neck injury in the team’s 20-19 win over Washington. Bush, who had not missed a defensive snap all season, injured his left knee in the second quarter when he took an awkward step while attempting to break up a pass. Also, Giants cornerback Darnay Holmes suffered a neck injury in the game.

Davante Adams was predictably the biggest beneficiary, with a career-high, franchise-record-tying 14 catches for 156 yards and two scores.
