Six years in the making, Miami-based The Related Group’s South Bank Residences project is in city permitting review at an estimated project cost of $150 million.

A river taxi went mysteriously missing from Downtown Jacksonville’s South Bank on Monday night, but was found Tuesday morning, according to the city’s dock master.

The Main Street Bridge closed early Sunday afternoon, reportedly due to mechanical issues.

Jacksonville’s Downtown Investment Authority voted Wednesday afternoon to allow a Miami-based developer to proceed with plans for a $90 million, 335-unit complex next to Friendship Foundation, a project that would involve the demolition of River City Brewing Company. Some background: The city, which owns the land where the restaurant sits, gave a 99-year lease to the owner of River City Brewing Company in 1998. The first plans unveiled by The Related Group included the aforementioned luxury apartment complex, but no restaurant or retail space. I’m glad there’s a cap at $500,000.”Unlike River City Brewing Company, the new restaurant would not sit right on the water, representatives for the developers said. For the time being, River City Brewing Company remains open as does the marina.

The other nations of the U.K. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have not introduced any limits yet. Hancock said the new limitations on gatherings will be complemented by tighter rules for the hospitality sector. The U.K. has Europes worst death toll from the virus, with nearly 41,600 deaths within 28 days of testing positive. The spike in U.K. cases follows big daily case increases in Spain and France, both of whom have seen rising numbers of COVID-19 patients being hospitalized.
