Gov. Ron DeSantis has filled three vacancies on the St. Augustine Airport Authority board.  The board, which oversees the airport’s operations, was rocked by controversy earlier this year when allegations arose that members of the board were violating Florida law by discussing policy in private, backdoor meetings.

Questions continue to mount around the St. Johns County Aviation Authority after allegations surfaced accusing two board members of violating Florida’s Sunshine Law and failing to disclose conflicts of interest.

The St. Johns County Airport Authority Board of Directors will hold its first meeting on Monday since its law firm announced it would no longer represent the government agency due to claims that two members engaged in a “pattern of violations” of Florida’s Sunshine Law.

A board member with the St. Johns County Airport Authority is speaking out after the entity’s legal counsel, Douglas Law Firm, claimed that the board’s chairman and another member committed a “pattern of violations” under Florida Sunshine Law.
