The St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier in St. Augustine Beach has reopened for the first time in months.

The St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier in St. Augustine Beach will reopen for fishing and sightseeing on Sunday, Jan. 12, after a long closure for shoreline restoration.

It’s another piece of the story that surrounds the pier.

The last 100 feet of the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier will be closed indefinitely while officials conduct an assessment of the pillars closest to the ocean, the county announced Friday.

St. Johns County is offering beachgoers free shuttle service to and from the beach on one of the busiest weekends of the year.
