An Arkansas hunter has died after being impaled by a deer that had gotten up and attacked him after it was shot, according to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Thomas Alexander, 66,was hunting in the woods near his home Tuesday evening when he spotted the male deer.
A cause of death has not been determined, but hospital workers noted that Alexander had several puncture wounds, suggesting the hunter was gored by the deer's antlers.
"Our hunter education coordinator has been working in this field for more than three decades and knows of only one other incident when a deer has attacked a hunter after being shot in Arkansas.
