Michael Rosato knew he had an incredibly important assignment on his hands when he was commissioned to paint a Harriet Tubman mural in Cambridge, Maryland.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If you’ve walked the Northbank Riverwalk lately, you’ve likely noticed a beautiful mural that’s in the works. At the beginning of 2020, Nackashi partnered with the City of Jacksonville, Downtown Revision and Downtown Dwellers to get a grant for the mural. The mural was inspired by the reflection of the downtown buildings, and people walking along the Northbank will soon have a beautiful, bright path to lead the way. The mural has been in the works for three weeks and it should be completed in the next week or so. In the coming months, the Northbank Riverwalk will connect to the Southbank Riverwalk once the pedestrian walkway in completed alongside the Fuller Warren Bridge.

While many of the people that are against the mural, wanting it moved altered or even destroyed, have lived in Baker county for years themselves. You and the mural should not cause sadness, outrage, or distress.My question to Baker county officials, Why is this painting magnified in the courthouse of justice? As for the next steps, one of the county commissioners must place the topic on the agenda in order for the commission to address the issues. The next county commissioners meeting is scheduled to take place July 21..
