Driver hydroplanes, hits guardrail, 2 semis on I-95 near CR 210

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving two semi-trucks and a car shut down part of southbound Interstate 95 in St. Johns County on Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, it happened about 9:30 p.m. on southbound I-95 just south of County Road 210. Investigators said a driver hydroplaned in the rain and caused a chain-reaction crash when he ran off the roadway before hitting a guardrail. Troopers said he is facing charges.

Another driver was transported to Memorial hospital with minor injuries.

All lanes reopened around 8 a.m. Friday.

Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route to avoid delays.
