JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 62-year-old person who was in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 on the Trout River Bridge before dawn Monday died after being struck by at least three vehicles, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 5:20 a.m. and blocked all northbound lanes while FHP investigated and cleared the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.
Troopers said three cars that struck the pedestrian stopped and cooperated with troopers but the FHP is looking for a white semi with a 53-foot enclosed trailer may also have struck the person and kept going.
