JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – I-295 southbound on the Buckman Bridge reopened around 12:45 p.m. Monday after being shut down for nearly seven hours following a deadly crash during rush hour.
Traffic had been diverted onto U.S. 17 and Blanding Boulevard since the crash was first reported around 6 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 28-year-old man driving a pickup truck hit the back of a box truck that was disabled in the left emergency lane south of U.S. 17 on the Buckman Bridge.
The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
The 43-year-old man from Tampa who was driving the box truck was not hurt.
