A 31-year-old man who was driving the wrong way on I-295 early Saturday morning was killed in a head-on crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the man was headed north in the southbound lanes of I-295, north of Baymeadows Road, around 3:40 a.m. when he hit another car head-on. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, the report said.

The 22-year-old man driving the other car suffered minor injuries, but his 26-year-old passenger was seriously hurt, FHP said. Both men were wearing seat belts.
