First Black woman to lead Maxwell Air Force Base joins The Morning Show on Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, we honor the men and women who've worn our nation's uniform — those who've served, sacrificed, and continued to lead long after their time in the military. One of those extraordinary leaders is retired Air Force commander Colonel Eries Mentzer.  She made history as the first Black woman to command Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama and now leads The Freedom To Serve Solutions, helping others find purpose and opportunity through service — whether in uniform or in their communities.
