St. Augustine Mayor/Commission, Seat 3

Nonpartian race open to all voters in city

Three candidates are seeking the votes for St. Augustine City Commission, Seat 3, which is also the mayoral seat. It is a nonpartisan office and all voters in the city limits can vote in this race on the August ballot.

If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, the two with the most votes will advance to a runoff in November.

What do you see as the top three issues you’ll likely face while holding this office?

  • While occupying the office of Mayor, I will lead the charge in solving the vagrancy issues plaguing the city. Another major issue that we have continued to see is the failing infrastructure. Roadways need to be repaved badly and my goal is to get them repaired soon after entering office. I also plan to address and combat unsustainable development within the city.

How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?

I am the best candidate for Mayor, my vision, drive and passion to move the city in the right direction will always be my priority. I enjoy getting to participate in this grassroots campaign where I get to listen to each and every voter.

I am a visionary and when I set my mind to something I will work tirelessly to accomplish those goals and when it comes to answering the calls of the constituency, their concerns and issue become my concerns and issues. I will ensure that every resident feels safe in their community and I will ensure their taxpayer dollars are being used responsibly.

What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?

  • I will be remembered for my compassionate leadership. I plan to serve every resident of the city and want to ensure that the city of St Augustine has the resources available and policies in place that will continue to see the city flourish. St Augustine will continue to see a sustainable and growing economy, better local business policies, improved infrastructure and a commission that is focused on responsible governance.

  • This election is about choosing a new Mayor that has a proven track record, leadership skills, time and long term commitment to service in the city. In my 13+ years of elected public service to the city there have many changes - the economic downturn of 2009, the 450th Commemorations, two major hurricanes, a worldwide pandemic and explosive growth in areas surrounding the city. Navigating these times has given me a deep understanding of the city and the issues it faces, a proven track record of making good decisions knowing people’s lives and livelihoods are affected.

What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?

  • I want to be known for being a Mayor who remembers who she works for, and works hard on the issues the citizens care about. For using my experience and leadership skills to keep the city focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, increasing mobility and parking, building a more resilient infrastructure and protecting and preserving its authentic history.
