The current District 4 commissioner, Republican Leann Pennington, is seeking re-election, and faces who challengers in the Republican primary in August. The primary race will appear on the ballot for all Republican voters in the county. No Democrats qualified for the race. However, a write-in candidate did qualify, so the Republican primary will remain closed to Republican voters, and the winner will advance to the general election.

What do you see as the top three issues in this race, and how do you plan to address them?
Ad Valorem - depends on the outcome
Growth - Needs to be responsible and intelligent. Infrastructure must be able to accommodate growth and we must ensure our budget is not outpacing population or inflation.
Taxes - Must be reasonable and limited. County government needs to stick to the priorities so the people can keep as much of their money in their pockets as they can.

Through increased transparency.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
Serving the people of Flagler at the highest level, having them feel heard and seen, keeping as much of their hard earned money in their pockets as possible.
