Republican congresswoman Kat Cammack is seeking re-election in Florida’s 3rd Congressional District, which covers all of North Central Florida, including Alachua, Bradford, Columbia and Union counties and all or part of seven other counties stretching all the way to the Gulf Coast. Cammack faces no challengers in her Republican primary, but there are four candidates in the Democratic primary, as well as a no party affiliation candidate who will be in the general election.

How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
As a 7th Grade Civics teacher, I spend every day helping young people understand how government should work and why public service matters, giving me a perspective grounded in education, not politics. My combination of classroom experience and decades in media has taught me how to listen, communicate clearly and turn complex problems into practical solutions that put working families first.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
That we made life more affordable for working families by strengthening Social Security, guaranteeing access to health care, and restoring economic stability. Above all, I want to leave behind a Congress that put people ahead of politics and helped rebuild trust that government can still work for the American people.

George Hubac

This is my first run for office, but every part of my life has been training for it.
In the Air Force, I learned to work behind the scenes, connecting people who’d never otherwise meet to get the mission done, leaning on plain American ingenuity when the manual ran out.
As a teacher, I spent less time checking whether a kid got the right answer and more time making sure they could think for themselves.
Running a small business, I met every segment of this community across the counter, and I ran it like an extension of the classroom, giving my employees room to grow and learn new skills while they served our customers.
And caring for my mother taught me the one thing we fight hardest to keep as we age: our independence. My job was to protect hers.
That’s the whole job I’m asking for. Not to stand in front of you, but to have your back, so you can move forward with confidence.
What do you see as the top three issues in this race, and how do you plan to address them?
A kidney stone taught me how Washington works. At best, they ease the pain. They rarely treat the cause. Maybe once in a generation, someone tries to change the diet. And this year? They took away the pain meds. Here’s my treatment plan.
1) Put the safeguards back. The new cuts to Medicaid, food assistance, and health insurance pay for tax breaks at the top. I’d vote to restore all three. That’s the pain relief.
2) Bring our money home. Our economy has a stone of its own: our tax dollars flow out and don’t come back. Our current congresswoman refuses to request community project funding. Zero dollars, ever, on principle. I’d fight for our share: clean water for towns like Otter Creek, mobile clinics that bring VA visits and maternity care to counties that lost their hospitals. That’s treating the cause.
3) Change the diet. At home, I’d help build local businesses that serve us: a meat processing co-op for our ranchers, a prefab housing co-op that makes homes we can afford. What’s produced here, stays here. In Washington, I’d work to create a permanent floor: healthcare you can reach and an income no one falls below. You can’t build a house from the top down.
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
Most candidates promise to hand you a future. I don’t think that’s the job. My role is to open doors, clear obstacles, and train people to hold those doors open. That’s what a catalyst does. Times are hard, and they may get harder before they get better. But this district has the land, the water, the university, and above all, the people to lead as the economy turns local again. We can build our own jobs and careers instead of waiting on a company that doesn’t know our names. I can’t hand you that future, but I can lay the groundwork so you can build it yourselves. That’s what having your back means.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
Handing the seat back stronger than I found it, with the doors we opened still open and people trained to hold them. I’ve set myself a four-term limit. The point isn’t to hold power. It’s to fix what I can and pass it on. Bring investment home. Put a floor under working families. That’s the legacy I want: securing our independence so this community owns its own future.

Political experience: I have run 6 times, each cycle since the DNC snuffed Bernie in 2016. In 2022 I was the D nominee & implacably opposed to genocide. FDP leadership, and the DNC, loves AIPAC money, and declared me a ‘reputational hazard’. I was flattered.
What do you see as the top three issues in this race, and how do you plan to address them?
The Supreme Court is the supreme problem. I’ve been saying that since 7/1/24, the day the 6 declared that Trump could kill...anybody. 99% of people know this - respond enthusiastically. (6 to 8 thousand conversations at public, non-political, events). If we restore the amended Constitution then the Congress we elect will pass Universal Healthcare and free education from pre-K through graduate school.
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
We have tolerated the intolerable for 50 years. The Court by ’76 Valeo and ’78 Bellotti, planted the metastasizing cancer of corporate $$ in our elections. I have a growing list of simple actions to preclude the recurrence of such a fail. This mid-term has vast potentiality.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
That I served my children well. As MLK taught me to count, I’ve 8 Billion children.

Political experience: For more than three decades, Mike has worked behind the scenes to support candidates, campaigns, and causes that he believed would strengthen America. That journey has taken him from local grassroots efforts to managing a presidential campaign with teams working across the country. Those experiences have given him a unique perspective on both the strengths and shortcomings of our political system. They also reinforced a simple belief: democracy is strongest when leaders put country before party, principles before politics, and the people they serve before their own ambitions.
Mike isn’t running because he has spent a lifetime seeking elected office. He is running because he believes our country is at a crossroads. What do you see as the top three issues in this race, and how do you plan to address them?
1. Economic Security
Working hard should be enough to build a good life. Yet across Florida, families are watching more of their paycheck disappear on groceries, fuel, insurance, and housing. The answer isn’t simply economic growth. It is **economic security**.
Mike believes one of America’s greatest overlooked opportunities is localization. COVID exposed fragile supply chains, while overseas conflicts continue to drive up fuel prices and the cost of everyday goods. Communities that produce more of their own food, energy, and manufactured goods create jobs while protecting themselves from global shocks. Localization isn’t about isolation. It’s about resilience.
Mike will champion a Main Street Cost of Living Plan that puts local businesses ahead of corporate monopolies. He will modernize America’s Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) into engines of a 21st-century economy, giving entrepreneurs, manufacturers, farmers, and innovators the support they need to grow and create jobs.
He also supports a modern Civilian Conservation Corps that gives young people, veterans, and career changers the opportunity to earn while they learn, building skills through infrastructure, housing, conservation, and disaster resilience projects.
2. Accessible Healthcare
Healthcare shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code. Too many families struggle to find a family doctor, wait months to see a specialist, or drive hours for treatment. That isn’t good enough.
Mike will strengthen rural healthcare, expand telehealth, and invest in the doctors, nurses, and mental health professionals our communities need.
As Chairman of Warrior Centric Health, Mike is advancing legislation to ensure every congressional district has the partnerships needed to support veterans through healthcare providers, employers, universities, and community organizations. Those who serve our country should never have to depend on their ZIP code to determine the support they receive when they come home.
Florida is home to one of the nation’s largest veteran populations. We should be leading America in veteran care.States like Virginia and Maryland have shown what is possible. Florida must do better.
Veterans are not political props. They are our neighbors, our teachers, our business owners, our coaches, and our first responders. Their service did not end when they took off the uniform, and neither should our commitment to them.
Mike will lower prescription drug costs through greater competition and transparency while investing more in prevention, nutrition, mental health, addiction treatment, and early screening. The healthiest nation isn’t the one that spends the most on healthcare. It’s the one that helps the most people stay healthy.
3. Housing and the American Dream
The housing crisis has become one of the greatest threats to the American Dream. It is also becoming a national security issue.
Large corporations and institutional investors are buying thousands of homes that once belonged to local families. We don’t know who many of these owners are, but we do know they are not rooted in our neighborhoods. Their responsibility is to shareholders, not the people who live there.
When homes become financial assets instead of places to raise a family, we lose more than homeownership. We lose stability, belonging, and the neighborhoods that make America strong.
The American Dream was built on a simple promise. Work hard, own a home, raise a family, and leave your children with greater opportunity than you had. That dream should be measured by the number of families who own a home, not by the number of homes listed on a corporate balance sheet.
Mike will increase workforce housing, help first-time buyers achieve homeownership, reduce barriers to building affordable homes, and stop large corporations from bulk-buying single-family homes.
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
What sets me apart isn’t just that I’m an Independent. It’s that I’ll be present.
If you’re a resident of Florida’s 3rd Congressional District and you want to meet with your Congressman, you’ll be able to. I’ll make myself available for coffee, community meetings, town halls, Zoom calls, or a conversation at your local veterans’ hall or civic group. You shouldn’t have to fight through layers of staff or party gatekeepers just to have your voice heard.
Too often, members of Congress spend more time in Washington attending fundraisers, meeting lobbyists, and climbing the political ladder than they do listening to the people they represent. I believe representation starts at home.
My office won’t just process paperwork. It will help solve problems. Whether you’re a veteran struggling with benefits, a farmer dealing with federal regulations, a student navigating financial aid, or a small business owner buried in bureaucracy, you’ll have a Congressman who is accessible, responsive, and committed to helping.
Because I’m not tied to a political party or dependent on corporate PAC money, my time belongs to the people of this district, not to party leadership in Washington.
I didn’t run for Congress to become part of Washington. I ran to make Washington work better for the people of Florida’s 3rd District. That means spending more time here, listening, meeting, and working alongside the people I represent, not simply hanging around DC.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
If, at the end of my service, people say I helped restore trust in government, I will consider that my greatest accomplishment.
Our country doesn’t just face economic or political challenges. It faces a crisis of confidence. Too many Americans believe Washington serves political parties, corporate interests, and special interests before it serves them. That has to change.
I want to be remembered for leading with integrity, taking responsibility, and always putting the interests of the American people ahead of politics. As an Independent, I can be a bridge bringing people together around practical solutions instead of partisan battles. Leadership isn’t about winning arguments. It’s about earning trust, building consensus, and delivering results.
I hope to help restore accountability in Congress, reduce the influence of money in politics, lower the cost of living for working families, strengthen healthcare, support our veterans, protect our environment, and ensure every decision is judged by one simple question: Does this make life better for the people of Florida’s 3rd District and for America?
I also want to be remembered for being present. Congress shouldn’t be a place where representatives disappear into Washington. I want people to remember that they could reach me, meet with me, and know they had a Congressman who spent his time listening to the people he represented, not just navigating the halls of Washington. Representation begins at home.
Most importantly, I want to be remembered as someone whose word meant something. Someone who was honest, accessible, and accountable. Someone who listened. Treated everyone with respect. and never forgot that elected office is a public trust, not a personal privilege.
If I can leave behind a Congress that is a little more honest, a little more respectful, and a little more focused on serving the American people than special interests, then I will have done my job
