Not everyone getting rain today, but here’s where it will be the wettest

Rain chances pick up the next few days

Rain coverage through Wednesday evening shows drier areas east of I-95.

Half of us are missing out on the rain but those inland spots that pick up storms will get soaked. Rain should skip past most eastern areas today closer to the coast, scattered showers and storms will develop west of the river to highway 301 this afternoon with a 30% chance of rain.

This heavy rain will target Southern inland Georgia with storms pushing down into the Suwannee River and inland areas near Lake City this evening. Some flooding is possible there while we stay dry in Jacksonville.

Tomorrow brings back more scattered showers with highs in the upper 80s to 90. A surge of moisture off the Atlantic could boost rain potential closer to the coast during the morning hours. Heavier rain and storms will once again target inland areas west of Jacksonville by the afternoon and evening.

Skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow with a 50% chance of rain. The pattern stays very summerlike with increasing scattered showers and storms Friday into the weekend focusing during the afternoon hours.
