Bundle up, temperatures tumble this weekend

Temperatures are slowly slipping toward freezing. Clearing skies with a Hard Freeze and Freeze Warnings for early Saturday. A Wind Chill Advisory is also in effect for Saturday. A Freeze and Hard Freeze Watch are in place for Sunday morning. Temperatures will be a little warmer early Monday, but will still support widespread frost formation.

Now: Clearing, chilly.

Overnight: Clear and cold. The wind chill will bring Feels Like temperatures in the teens to mid 20s.

Saturday: A Hard Freeze Warning 1 a.m. - 10 a.m. for inland SE GA. A Freeze Warning for Coastal SE GA and NE FL 3 a.m. - 10 a.m. Wind Chill Advisory 2 a.m. - 11 a.m. Clear and cold with lows in the 20s for SE GA, 20s to low 30s for NE FL. Sunny and chilly with highs in the 40s to low 50s and a chilly breeze. Wind NW 10-15 with higher gusts. Clear and cold overnight with Freeze Warnings through early Sunday.

Sunday: Hard Freeze and Freeze Warning conditions continue with continued cold temperatures. Lows in the 20s. Highs in the 40s to low 50s. Wind NNE 10-15 mph.

  • Blankets: Put them on a chair, couch or chaise, cuddle up and stay warm. They will also insulate your pets from the cold ground.
  • Bathrobes: They are comfy, warm and count as an extra layer. If you are not going anywhere, wear it all day long/
  • Bowls: Big warm bowls of something good. Oatmeal, grits or muesli for breakfast. Soups, stews or chili for dinner. Warm in your hands and your belly.
  • Bundle Up! If you have to leave, put on the layers. We are dressing for the wind and the cold.
