More rain, potential flooding to start the work week; Flood Watch issued for Duval, Nassau, St. Johns

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The stalled front continues to bring heavy rains to Northeast Florida with potential localized flooding and pooling on roadways south of I-10 and along the I-95 corridor throughout Monday.

A Flood Watch was issued for parts of Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties until 5 a.m. on Tuesday. A Flood Advisory remains in effect until 3:15 p.m. for portions of Duval and Nassau and Camden counties.

Fernandina Beach saw over 4″ of rainfall this morning due to a stalled band of rain over the island, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will stay in the lower 80s in Northeast Florida, and high 70s in Southeast Georgia. The blanket of clouds will remain with little sunshine. You can’t rule out a thunderstorm with heavy downpours and gusty winds at times. Rainfall accumulation is likely, especially in areas that have already seen abundant amounts of water.
