Warmer Weekend to Ease Into Early Winter Chill

The weekend is here and warmer temperatures are on the way.

We need some of these warmer days to air the house out and get ready for the next Winter wallop coming early next week. Seasonal to above seasonal temperatures are expected Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be pleasant with light wind, great for those running the Ameris Bank Marathon. Sunday will offer nice weather for tailgating with the southeasterly winds increasing through t he day.

Much colder temperatures will move in overnight with very low wind chill Sunday night and Monday morning. The cold weather will prompt Warning and Advisory conditions with wind chill values around 15 to 25 degrees. A Hard Freeze is possible for Inland southeast Georgia early next week.

Winter officially starts on December 21 at around 10 a.m.

Tonight: Clear and chilly with patchy fog.

Saturday: Clear and cool then becoming sunny and warmer. Seasonal to above seasonal temperatures under sunny skies. Lows in the 30s and 40s for SE GA and NE FL. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Wind: W/SE 5-10 mph. Mostly clear overnight with patchy fog.

Sunday: Becoming partly cloudy and breezy then much colder overnight. Morning lows in the 40s to 50s. Afternoon highs in the 60s to low 70s. Wind: NW 5-10 mph, becoming 10-20 mph.

Monday: Freeze Warning and a Frost Advisory are likely late Sunday into Monday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop to the 20s and 30s with Wind Chill temperatures in the teens and 20s.

Freezing temperatures will continue through Tuesday morning.
