Scattered showers and areas of light rain are moving across southeast Georgia and northeast Florida, near and along I-75. These are associated with the warm front moving through the region. The next round of showers and isolated storms will develop as the cold front pushes through late tonight and early Friday.
The second wave of showers is moving northeast over the Gulf and will bring another window for heavier showers and isolated storms around 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Models continue to indicate the heaviest rainfall amounts in southeast Georgia, with an overall estimated total of 0.25-0.75 inches. Locally higher amounts near an inch are possible. Rainfall totals will taper off to less than 0.25 inch along the coast with a tenth of an inch of rain or less is expected south of Gainesville.
Tonight: Cloudy with scattered showers and isolated storms through late tonight, early Friday morning.
Friday: Patchy fog as skies slowly clear. Becoming partly cloudy with a steady westerly breeze. Morning lows in the 50s and 60s. Afternoon highs in the 60s and 70s. Wind: W 5-15 mph. Clearing overnight with patchy frost possible for inland areas.
Weekend: A chilly start to Saturday with some inland areas waking up to frost. Sunny skies as temperatures continue to hover a little above normal both Saturday and Sunday. Open those windows!
Christmas Eve/Day: The warming trend continues. Lows in the 40s, 50s and afternoon highs in the 60s to mid 70s.
