Freeze and Frost start a warmer Wednesday

Increasing rain chances this weekend, A winter mix moves south

Update: A Frost Advisory has been added to the Freeze Warning for Wednesday. The Frost Advisor will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. This will affect inland areas of NE FL, west of I-95 and the River.

Another cold night ahead as freezing temperatures and widespread frost blanket the area through early Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will warm under partly cloudy skies as the onshore wind returns Thursday and Friday. The clouds will increase late on Saturday with a chance of showers during the evening and overnight. Beneficial rain is expected on Sunday.

Tonight: Mostly clear, cold with areas of frost. Freeze warning 11 p.m. - 9 a.m.

Wednesday: Freeze Warning 12 a.m. - 8 a.m. Areas of frost under clear skies with lows in the 30s for SE GA, 30s and 40s for NE FL. Afternoon highs in the 60s. Wind: NE 10-15 mph. Partly cloudy overnight.

Thursday - Friday: Mild mornings with patchy fog. Lows in the 40s and 50s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees. Wind: NE 5 - 10 mph. Coastal showers possible under the onshore flow, 10 percent.

Another cold front will sink south on Sunday and early next week with a chance of a winter mix approaching southeast Georgia on Sunday night. Models are hinting at a glancing blow of a winter mix or possibly some ice across the southeastern states.

The severe drought conditions continue across our area. The recent freezes have resulted in the drying of available fuels. The good news is that beneficial rainfall chances will increase through the weekend.
