Near Record Highs Expected Before Cold Front Arrives

Rain chances increase ahead of approaching cold front

You may be enjoying these warmer days almost as much as your plants will enjoy a little weekend rain.

Patchy to dense fog will be an issue again tonight and early Friday. The fog will begin mixing out late tomorrow morning with partly cloudy skies and near record highs. Models continue to show showers developing mainly over southeast Georgia with a few showers possible near and along I-10.

The rain chances continue for Saturday and Sunday. Rain chances will increase late Saturday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through around noon on Sunday. Clearing skies and colder temperatures come rushing in behind the front. The models show light amounts of rain, around a half inch or less for the area.

Breeze and cold temperatures will bring wind chill back to the forecast with freezing temperatures and frost on Monday and Tuesday morning.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with patchy to dense fog.

Friday: Possible record highs with a slight chance of afternoon showers for SE GA and north of I-10. Morning lows in the upper 50s and 60s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s. Wind SW 10-15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. Patchy fog overnight. Chance of showers, 10 - 20 percent for NE FL, 30-50 percent for SE GA.

Weekend: Patchy to areas of dense fog early Saturday. Windy and warmer Saturday with an increasing chance of showers after 2 pm. Rain chances will continue overnight and through around noon on Sunday. Much colder temperatures will come sweeping in for the start of the week.
