Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies tonight with patchy to dense fog possible from JAX north through coastal southeast Georgia and inland along Highway 301.

Rain chances will increase on Sunday and Monday, with strong to isolated severe storms possible as the cold front pushes through. The cooler temperatures following the front will be perfect for slow-cooked corned beef and cabbage.

Frost will be possible across southeast Georgia on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, otherwise the late winter chill will be brief.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with patchy to dense fog.

Saturday: Near seasonal morning lows followed by warmer afternoon highs under partly cloudy skies. Showers will be possible late afternoon along our southern counties, Alachua, Putnam and Flagler, 20 percent. Lows in the 40s to 50s for SE GA, 50s and 60s for NE FL. Afternoon highs in the 70s to low 80s. Wind NE 10-15 mph. Cloudy overnight with increasing showers and storms on Sunday.

Sunday: Cloudy with waves of rain with thunderstorms, 60-70 percent. Lows in the 50s and 60s. Afternoon highs in the 70s and 80s. Wind SE 10-15 mph. Rain will continue overnight and through Monday afternoon.

On Monday, the rain will continue through late afternoon, with some models now holding showers through early evening. Strong to isolated severe storms will be possible. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 1.0 inch.

These rounds of rain will help, but the area remains under an Extreme Drought and a Phase II Severe Water Shortage. Remember, landscape irrigation is limited to one day a week. Do not water between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
