JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A few showers and storms can’t be ruled for the rest of the day with temperatures near 90 degrees. Patchy fog will develop overnight, especially for those areas that saw activity today.
The pattern will remain the same as we head through the rest of the holiday weekend. Showers and storms will be possible Sunday afternoon and evening with highs near 90 degrees.
Heavy rain, gusty wind and frequent lightning will be possible in any storm. A few spots could pick up over an inch of rain depending on where the storms develop.
Storm coverage will remain widespread early next week thanks to the southerly wind. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be near 90 degrees.
In terms of rainfall, accumulation will depend highly on where storms develop. An area of low pressure along with a front will keep widespread rain and storm chances in the forecast later next week into the upcoming weekend.
Several inches of rain are possible during this period. Any rainfall will be very beneficial due to the ongoing drought across our area.

Portions of Nassau and Camden Counties in FL/GA were downgraded to a severe drought due to the rainfall received over the past week.
