Lakeside residents asked to shelter in homes due to law enforcement activity

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Residents in the Lakeside community are being asked to stay inside their homes due to law enforcement activity in the area, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The agency issued a SaferWatch alert Saturday afternoon regarding an increased law enforcement presence in the area of Loango Road and Fortuna Drive. In a Facebook post, Sheriff Michelle Cook called it a very active scene.

Residents are being asked to avoid that immediate area. The sheriff’s office says additional information will be released when appropriate.
