JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Scattered showers and storms are possible for the rest of the day. It will be warm and muggy with temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
Isolated instances of flooding will be possible, especially for areas that see several rounds of showers and storms.
A FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for western Columbia County (along and west of I-75) through Monday. Those locations have the best chance of seeing several inches of rain through early next week.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s.
A front will remain near our area on Sunday, which will keep widespread showers and storms in the forecast. Highs for the day will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Isolated instances of flooding will be possible once again due to the slow movement of the activity.
Make sure to keep an eye to the sky and storms could develop rapidly. Activity will eventually dissipate later in the evening.
The disturbance will remain near our area on Monday. Scattered showers and storms will remain in the forecast with highs near 90 degrees.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to a moderate and severe drought which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
