A hot day with some rain and storms on the horizon

Good morning!

The usual early August weather settles in across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia for the rest of the week.

Expect a mix of sunshine and building clouds each day, with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening hours as the sea breeze pushes inland.

High temperatures will remain seasonably hot in the upper 80s to lower 90s, with heat index values reaching around 100 degrees before storms develop.

While widespread severe weather is not expected, a few stronger storms will be capable of producing frequent lightning, gusty winds, torrential downpours, and isolated flooding, especially where storms repeatedly track over the same areas.

Rain chances generally range from 40 to 60 percent each day, with this weekend currently appearing to have the greatest coverage of storms.

Make it a good Tuesday!

Stay dry and cool.
