Extreme Heat Warnings Continue With Triple Digit Feels Like Temperatures

Extreme Heat Warning and a Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. The Warnings and Advisories continue tomorrow and likely for the remainder of the week.

A Heat Advisory and Extreme Heat Warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly south of I-10, will continue through early evening and then dissipate after sunset.

The pattern continues with triple-digit Feels Like temperatures and afternoon showers and thunderstorms through the week. Locally heavy rain, gusty wind and lightning remain the main hazards.

Near record highs along with the heat and humidity combination will keep heat indices around 105 - 110 degrees.

In the tropics: Tropical activity is not expected for the next few days, however, the GFS is showing potential development in the Atlantic later this week. The EURO is not showing anything in the same area, but it’s something to watch.

Tonight: Heat Advisory, Heat Warning through 8 p.m. Isolated showers and thunderstorms through early evening.

Tuesday: Hot and humid. Heat Advisory, Heat Warning 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Heat indices up to 110 degrees. Isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m., 30-50 percent. Morning lows in the 70s to low 80s. Afternoon highs in the 90s inland, upper 80s to low 90s along the beaches. Wind: WSW 5-10 mph.

Wednesday - Friday: Near record highs with possible heat advisories and warnings. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms daily. Morning lows in the 70s with highs in the mid to upper 90s inland, upper 80s to 90s along the beaches. Feels Like temperatures 105-110 degrees. Wind: WSW 5 -10 mph.

Looking ahead: Temperatures return to near seasonal this weekend with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
