Less wind and cooler temperatures as the feel of Fall briefly settles across the area. Flooding will be possible at High Tide for local waterways.
The steady, at times strong, onshore winds continue, with showers along our coastal counties and beaches. Rainfall amounts have been light, with areas along I-95 and the beaches showing radar-estimated totals of 0.10 to 0.25 inches.
A slight chance of showers continues Friday, mainly for St. Johns and Flagler counties.
Sustained winds have been in the teens to low 20 mph range, with gusts hovering around 25-29 mph. The onshore winds will maintain marine and coastal hazards through Saturday morning.
Minor coastal and tidal flooding along the St. Johns River, Intracoastal, and the beaches will be possible at times of High Tide through Friday morning, and possibly Saturday.
As the front moves south and dry air moves in, cooler temperatures will start the day Friday and continue this weekend. This will be the first of our widespread lows in the 50s and 60s.
Tonight: Winds decreasing late, with coastal showers possible through around 5 p.m.
Friday: Breezy with coastal showers, 20-30 percent for St. Johns and Flagler counties. Morning lows in the 60s and 70s. Afternoon highs in the 70s to 80s. Decreasing winds, partly cloudy, and cool overnight.
Weekend: Make those outside plans, whether you are decorating for Fall, tailgating, or relaxing by a fire pit. The weather will be perfect. A little more of a northeasterly breeze on Saturday and a little warmer on Sunday. Lows in the 50s and 60s. Highs in the 70s and 80s.
