ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A physical education teacher at Nease High School is under investigation by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office for allegations of "inappropriate communications" with at least one student.
The school district said Dionne Younce is suspended with pay during the investigation.
Younce was notified by letter Wednesday of the suspension and the investigation into "alleged misconduct in office."
The suspension began Wednesday and will continue until the investigation is completed by the Human Resources Department.
During the suspension, Younce is not allowed on school property unless told to be there by the Human Resources Department or the school administration.
She was told not to discuss the suspension with co-workers, parents or students.
