ORLANDO, Fla. – Shane Evan Tomlinson was among more than 300 people inside the Pulse nightclub about 2 a.m. Sunday when a gunman came in and started firing. The 33-year-old was among 49 killed and 53 other injured by the gunfire at the gay nightclub.

"He's a singer; he's a big part of our community. If you guys have seen him -- we heard he had been shot -- we don't know what hospital he's in," pleaded Tomlinson's friend, Zee, before she found out Tomlinson was one of those killed.

His friends were among many families hosted at Orlando's senior center on Delaney Avenue waiting to learn the status of their loved one.

Friends said Tomlinson was in a musical group called Frequency Band.

Friends say Tomlinson has lived in Orlando for at least four years and was a proud uncle who loved his family.

"We tip our hats to law enforcement," said Zee. "They have done everything. Just to see the footage of them picking up bodies and doing everything that they can."
