Police: Kingsland man arrested in Family Dollar armed robbery

KINGSLAND, Ga. – A man was arrested after an armed robbery was reported Saturday night at a Family Dollar store, the Kingsland Police Department said. 

Anthony White, 45, of Kingsland, is charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.

Officers responded about 10:25 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at the Family Dollar on South Lee Street. 

When they arrived, the store clerk, who was able to get out of the building, told police a person with a firearm was still inside. 

The Camden County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team was called and tried to make contact with the person inside the store.

After several hours, police said, the Emergency Response Team decided to enter the store, and took the man into custody without incident. 

While searching the building, police said, they found gloves and an airsoft pistol near the area where the man was located.
