Man shot, killed in Grand Park neighborhood identified, police say No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 30-year-old man shot and killed Sunday night in the Grand Park neighborhood has been identified, Jacksonville police said.
Police called to a home on West 18th Street about 11 p.m. found the man, later identified as 25-year-old Nelson Haywood, who had been shot. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died.
According to the police report, the gunfire was detected by ShotSpotter .
Homicide detectives believe Haywood was shot through the door of the home. There were other people in the home, but none of them were injured.
At this point, there is no information about a possible motive or suspect.
Anyone with any information leading up to the shooting is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff' Office.
