Police ID man found dead after dispute in Westside home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said they found a man dead after being called Saturday night to an armed dispute in a home in the Woodstock area of Jacksonville's Westside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Tuesday identified the man as 27-year-old Wilmer David Duron-Jimenez

Officers responded about 10:30 p.m. Saturday to Rockwood Drive, near the intersection of Beaver Street and Edgewood Avenue North. Police have not said how the man died.

Neighbors are shocked, saying this area is quiet, and the people who apparently live in the home where this happened are devastated.

"It’s kind of surprising.  My cousin just told me about it. I said I ain’t heard nothing about it.  Haven’t heard no gunshots or nothing. I mean, you hear gunshots. But usually, nobody doesn’t bother anybody.  Everybody’s pretty friendly," said Randy Perry, a neighbor.

Detectives said the investigation is active and ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
