Jacksonville man found shot to death in his car

Police are looking for a motive and who may have pulled the trigger

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Homicide detectives are trying to determine who shot a man to death early Sunday inside a pickup truck in the driveway of his home on East Prospect Street, just off of West 12th Street on Jacksonville's Westside.

Family members identified the man as Dominique Lloyd, who turned 26 years old last month. Sunday night, police confirmed the identity.

Police said the victim was found dead in the driver's seat just after 6 a.m., but they don't know exactly when the shooting occurred.

No one else was hurt in the shooting.

“A friend of the victim dialed 911 and officers are speaking to family at the scene trying to piece together what happened,” Sgt. Marc Musser said.

Dozens of family and friends surrounded the scene. They said Lloyd was a Sunday school secretary and kept to himself.
