Police ID man found dead in car in Duclay neighborhood

Body found in vehicle in parking lot of paint store off Blanding Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who was found Tuesday morning shot to death in his car on Townsend Road, just off Blanding Boulevard in the Duclay neighborhood, has been identified.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers were called to the parking lot of the Sherwin-Williams store where the body of Brandon Webb was found in a vehicle.

At 7:45 a.m., homicide detectives were dispatched to take over the investigation from patrol officers.

Police have not said if they were looking for a gunman.

The scene blocked Townsend Road for hours, making it difficult for some children in the are to reach their bus stop.

"I was worried if I’d go to school or not today because my bus stop is over there," sixth-grader Maye Moncate said. "I’m afraid that if, some day, I go to the corner store there and buy some gum, something will happen to me."
