Police ID woman killed in double shooting in Jacksonville

Man critically injured in Woodstock area shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police have identified a woman killed Saturday in a double shooting in the Woodstock area that left a man in critical condition.

Detectives told News4Jax they were called to reported of gunfire on Columbus Avenue near Prospect Street just before 9 p.m.. When they arrived, a 27-year-old woman, later identified as Brittany Crawford, was already dead in the street.

A 29-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was found in the road and was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers did not have any information about a possible gunman.

Police said Crawford was a transient, but did not release a motive for the shooting, saying it is still an active homicide investigation.
