Expert weighs in as SNAP cuts hit Florida families hard

Florida’s SNAP enrollment has dropped. It tumbled by roughly 21%, with more than half a million residents losing food assistance.

The drop is driven by federal work requirement expansions and funding cuts from the 2025 federal budget law.

Sadaf Knight, CEO of Florida Policy Institute, joined us on The Morning Show to discuss the implications. He says it impacts nutrition and health care at a time when affordability is a major problem for many Floridians.
