Hundreds of users reported issues Friday morning with two major platforms — Proofpoint and Microsoft Outlook — according to data from Down Detector, a website that tracks real-time outage reports.

Proofpoint, which delivers enterprise cybersecurity solutions including email security, threat protection, cloud security, anti-spam filtering, email archiving and data loss prevention services for organizations worldwide, saw a surge in outage reports Friday morning.
According to Down Detector, reports peaked at approximately 9 a.m., with around 400 users flagging problems. Of those reports, 54% cited issues with the app, 23% reported login problems and 22% experienced issues with the website.
Proofpoint had not publicly commented on the outages as of the time of publication.
Microsoft Outlook users report similar issues
Microsoft Outlook users also flooded Down Detector with outage reports Friday morning. Reports peaked at around 10 a.m., reaching approximately 450 reported outages.
Of those reports, 56% said they were having trouble sending messages, 32% reported issues receiving messages and 7% cited problems with the app.
Microsoft Outlook had not publicly commented on the outages as of the time of publication.
