Man arrested after shooting on Fox Tail Lane

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 22-year-old man was arrested after a shooting Saturday night on Fox Tail Lane in Northwest Jacksonville.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, police found a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

A report from the Sheriff’s Office said James Smith, 22, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. Investigators said he was standing near the victim and was arrested at gunpoint.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting.
