Early morning apartment fire under control

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Crews responded Sunday morning to an apartment fire off Hodges Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

JFRD said one person was in the apartment and fell asleep shortly before the fire, but that resident was uninjured. JFRD said the Red Cross was requested to help one adult.

The fire was contained to one apartment and is under investigation.
