Body found floating in Moncrief Creek; death considered suspicious

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found floating in a creek on Jacksonville’s Northside.

JSO said a man’s body was found floating in Moncrief Creek behind a home in the Norwood neighborhood on Gardenia Lane around 5:30 p.m.

JSO said the death is considered suspicious because of where the body was found and how it looked.

It’s not clear how long the man had been there but an autopsy will determine the cause of death and identify him.
