JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 3-year-old boy drowned Thursday in what police called a “tragic accident” on Independence Day, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Family and friends were gathered at a home on Blackbeard Drive for the Fourth of July when they noticed the toddler was missing.

The child was found unconscious in the pool. Life-saving measures were performed, and he was taken to a hospital, but he died.
Police said no foul play was suspected.
