Woman in her 70s fatally struck crossing Blanding Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman in her 70s was fatally hit while crossing Blanding Boulevard.
The crash happened on Friday night near the intersection of Blanding and Harlow boulevards, a little after 9 p.m.
Witnesses told the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office that the woman was not walking in a crosswalk or aware of incoming traffic.
A driver of a jeep was traveling on Blanding Blvd. when they hit the woman.
The driver was cooperating with the investigation. JSO said there were no signs of impairment as well.
The driver was uninjured. The woman died at the scene.
This marks the 77th traffic fatality in Duval County.
