ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – There are still lingering questions following a deadly shooting in the St. Augustine Shores neighborhood on Saturday.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says one person died and one person was taken into custody, but neither has been identified by investigators.

Crime scene tape replaced the usual quiet of the St. Augustine Shores neighborhood as detectives spent hours documenting evidence at the home.
Neighbors say Como Court was quickly filled with deputies and emergency vehicles, a jarring sight on what is typically a peaceful residential street.
According to records, a 91-year-old man and an 87-year-old woman lived in the home.
Neighbors who spoke with News4JAX described the couple, saying the woman was blind and may have been living with Alzheimer’s disease.
“Well, she was blind, and frail. And then he started getting even frailer. But they were a really nice couple, and everybody’s heart broke,” neighbor Bill Meyers said. “Everybody in the neighborhood’s heart broke because we all loved the guy and we’d do anything for him.”
One resident says they witnessed law enforcement take a man from the home into custody, describing a dramatic scene involving a drone and a large law enforcement presence.
“The police landed a drone right in front of the front door. It had, like, a speaker on it. And they were talking to him and telling him to come out with his hands up,” neighbor James Frazee said.
“Well, then he did, I guess agreed to come out because a bunch of guys swarmed up there with assault rifles around the house, and he came out and they pulled the car up real quick, and they put him in the back,” Frazee continued.
When News4JAX asked the sheriff’s office whether it could release the suspect’s name, age, or booking photo, investigators declined, saying no additional information will be released while the investigation is ongoing.
