Motorcyclist killed, passenger critically injured after colliding with car at Putnam County intersection

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A 66-year-old Crescent City man died after his motorcycle collided with a sedan at the intersection of County Road 308 and Union Avenue in Putnam County on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred about 11:39 a.m., according to FHP. A sedan was traveling south on Union Avenue and began crossing at the stop sign when a motorcycle traveling east on CR 308 struck the sedan’s right passenger side, the agency said.

The motorcycle’s driver was ejected and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His 66-year-old passenger, also from Crescent City, was ejected and taken by EMS with critical, traumatic injuries.

The sedan’s driver, a 20-year-old woman from Satsuma, and an 18-year-old male passenger from Crescent City suffered minor injuries, FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
